I echo what most have already said here, aside from the seemingly honest perspective of the book having some padding in the form of fluff. In contrast, I found the opposite to be true. If this book were only 20-30 pages, I surely would not have extracted as much value as I did in its current form.I've pretty much read every book that I could find from agency owners and this book was by far top of the class. What made this book stand out for me was it's actionable approach towards 'connecting actions to outcomes' and measuring marketing performance at scale.Every marketer's nightmare is tracking and organizing data and then translating and reporting ROI. The author solve's this dilemma by providing systems and processes that will change the way you think about all these things.After reading this book, I've tried to absorb all the content available online that I could find from the author. And after spending a few years with this book and his evergreen content, I find it as useful today as I did on day one.Everything I've found online from the author has been well thought out and worthy of your time, energy and focus. I couldn't recommend his body of work any more highly.All said, I found this book very approachable and immediately actionable.Resources:I found his company's PR 20/20 blog and his agency tailored Marketing Agency Insider blog to be very insightful.If you are looking for additional course material, you can email his friendly staff at PR2020 for further information on some of his more advanced courses, which were all excellent.
The core content of this book was absolutely fantastic and immediately actionable. This book, and an accompanying webinar led by Paul, inspired me to substantially improve our business practices in a number of different and complimentary ways.The only reason I give this book 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the content fluff. Because of all the chapter summaries, content repetition, and formatting tricks, this (seemingly) full-sized book reads more like a 20-30 page powerhouse that got puffed up to make it more marketable.However you feel about the presentation of the material, the actual information relayed is meaningful and important and absolutely worth the cost of the book.
Book is full of fluffy content which has no practical actionability on how to improve marketing performance. Wished I had trusted the other reviews and chosen not buy this book. Pure regret.

I honestly can't recommend this book enough! Anyone who works in marketing and PR should have this book on their book shelf. In his first book, The Marketing Agency Blueprint, Paul talks about the evolution of the marketer and how there is a shortage of these newly needed "hybrid marketers." As someone who wants to be the best in his field and also be a resource to others, both books have been a big help in my own skill-set development. It is more important than ever that marketers prove the ROI of their campaigns and this book helps push you into either gaining those skills or learning how to hire for those skills. On top of the skills and talent portion, Paul dives deep into the why and how of developing a game plan for your marketing technology system. A system that probably needs to be agile and able to shift with the ever-changing technology landscape. What metrics are measuring? How do they relate to the marketing funnel? Are you aligning KPIs with your business goals?
This is a great book for what is currently a rapidly changing market place. The processes and tools are gold!
I liked this in-depth look at tracking, reporting and KPIs. Expands on ideas and methodology put forth in The Marketing Agency Blueprint, which was excellent.
